Specificity of manifestation of nonlinearities for angular oscillations of the reservoir with liquid. Harmonic disturbance

Abstract

The problem about forced nonlinear combined oscillations of the cylindrical reservoir with the liquid with a
free surface on a pendulum suspension under harmonic disturbance of the reservoir is under consideration.
The results of linear and nonlinear modeling of the system behavior for harmonic disturbance of the reservoir
on the pendulum suspension in a vicinity of the first resonant frequency were studies for two lengths of the
pendulum suspension. It was shown that results of linear and nonlinear suspensions have considerable
qualitative and quantitative differences. Differences and reasons of their origination were analyzed. A
specific character of interaction of two normal modes, which in addition to the first antisymmetric normal
modes are exited due to nonlinear radiation effect in the system. As a result these normal modes partially
kill each other on the reservoir walls and condition nonsymmetric character of waves profiles of a free
surface of the liquid.
